Byron Bay – Crossing the Line
June 17, 2012
What a glorious weekend! (nevermind the fact that I am now sick as a dog) A couple of friends and myself decided to take a day trip down to Byron Bay which is a beachside township in Northern New South Wales (NSW). It was a two hour trip each way but the time flew and the day was picture perfect – fluffy clouds in the distance that were kind enough to stay away until the later hours of our trip when we were ready to go home.
We ate at a delicious pub overlooking the beach and enjoyed a vodka or two – well, Amanda and I did, Chloe decided to be a bit wild and help herself to a Tequila Sunrise which she later regretted since the walk to the toilets to pee was none too pleasing. Nevermind the appalling hygiene standards…

The drinks were tasty and Chloe’s Tequila Sunrise looked quite good…I was a bit jealous…

My burger was huge and I could barely fit my mouth around it….and then in my hurry to eat it I made myself a bit sick!
After our lunch we moseyed around some stores but unfortunately they all said no photos were allowed so the camera stayed tucked away in my bag…until we made the trek up to the lighthouse! The views were amazing…
The walk up was quite a hike and the wind as we got higher was phenomenal!
The clouds positioned themselves perfectly for the photo…such a beautiful place!
It was very picturesque…
We then walked down the cliff further to admire the ocean views
This is where the lighthouse keeper and his family used to live…what a view!
Amanda admiring the view from the lookout
And of course, the photo we had all been waiting for…a photo of us girls!
It was a fabulous day and we all enjoyed ourselves a lot (I think!). I have never been to Byron Bay so I really did act like a tourist. I was glad that Amanda and Chloe knew where they were going – probably wouldn’t have been able to do half of what we did otherwise hehe!
So, that’s just another little piece of Australia!

Why is Australia so freaking pretty! The views at Byron Bay are something amazing — I love how all the clouds are hovering nicely above the scene.
Oh my gosh, I don’t know which aspect to comment on first, so I’m just gonna jump in all balls to the wall like and just have at it:
The burger looks Heavenly, and I don’t even like burgers, the fries, too, and again, I’m not even a fan of French fries, the sky is so intensely beautiful, the clouds look like piles of cotton and I just wanna hug them, the lighthouse photos look just perfect, and you and your friends all look super happy and pretty! *^^*
Whew, I did it! I’m so proud of me. XD;
Booo now I want a drink. XD Anyway, the place looks very lovely. Especially those clouds. I haven’t seen clouds like that in forever. And aren’t lighthouses usually taller? Haha I guess it didn’t really need to be. Hmm… why weren’t you allowed to take pictures? Did they give a reason?? Anyway, I’m glad you had an awesome time!
Haha yeah, I think they are but because this one is on such a high cliff there is no need for it to be so tall!
I think because the shop owners were afraid of people stealing their designs we weren’t allowed to have photos but it was weird – at the front of EVERY store it had the sign so I dunno….
